Log Cabin Heart Design by Grace

Grace created this image, reminiscent of a log cabin quilting pattern, in crayon with a construction paper substrate.

Christmas Tree 2009

We finally got around to getting ready for the holidays.  On the 12th, Hayne took the girls to get a tree at the place near the park in Greer.  They chose well.

For those who are confused, these were my Grandmother's.  They are Mary and Jesus, and Elizabeth with John the Baptist.

This was the only picture they stood still for, of course...

Cope construction, Part 1

These are from about 2 weeks ago.  More to come...

Party for Mr. Norman - December 2009

Mr. Norman is a member of Marie's parish.  He's also the contractor on our building project.  As a small thank you for all the work he's done for us, we gave him a small internet-only computer (which he apparently had spent that very afternoon researching at Best Buy).

Gingerbread Houses

This was back when Oma visited at Thanksgiving.  The kids had an absolute BLAST decorating the set of Gingerbread houses.  Mama and Oma had more difficulty putting them together than the kids did decorating them...

Nina was a bit confused at first as to what to do with the candy. She decided precision was key to the Gingerbread house process.

Artistic expression was the focus of Grace's energy. And lots and lots of sprinkles.

Oma served as the helper on these projects.

I'm not sure what happened to the 2 first posts I created ... perhaps there will be a 4th ...

Here we are about a month ago making the silly face.  Grace and Nina will do this for hours if I let them (notice the drool spot on G's shirt?  Nice, eh?)  They don't seem too distressed when I tell them their face might stick.  I fear that one day their cheeks will sag like Beckett's jowls...
